We gladly learn, we gladly teachServing the six towns of Sandwell, we aim to provide day - time educational, social and creative activities for older people no longer in full - time employment. No qualifications are needed, and no exams are taken. Sandwell University of the Third Age (SU3A) offers an enjoyable way to meet new people whilst learning new things without pressure.SU3A members enjoy a Monthly General Meeting (MGM) in The Public, West Bromwich. There is plenty of parking nearby. The main Bus Station and the Metro Station, are just a few minutes walk away. There is always an enjoyable social atmosphere, with a guest speaker on a wide range of topics, many of particular local interest. In addition to these general meetings there are currently special interest groups involved with art, computers, criminology, Italian, Latin, literature, local history and environment, music appreciation, outings and strolls, play reading and scrabble. There are also regular visits to local theatres and places of interest, and a lunch club visiting local hostelries. More details are available on “Interest Group” pages.Every effort is made to make new members welcome, and SU3A would like to hear from potential members prepared to pass on their interests and knowledge by forming new interest groups.Above all the aim of SU3A is to cater for the older people of Sandwell, so it is run entirely BY local members FOR local members.
